Present upgrade message *after* Pushbullet connection?

I have a family member who cannot use her hands. She relies on Push2Run to turn on the computer's microphone so she can use Dragon Naturally Speaking to control the computer.
Things have been working very well so far. However, this morning she rebooted the machine (also via Push2Run) and when Push2Run launched it presented the dialog
Unfortunately, she was unable to turn on the microphone. Later, when I remoted into her machine I saw the dialog and noticed that the Push2Run tray icon was red. When I clicked "No" the log then said
and the Push2Run tray icon switched to its normal colour.
Might it be possible to display the upgrade message after the connection to Pushbullet is established? For now I have disabled "automatically check for update" but it would be nice to have the default configuration not present a Catch-22 in cases like this.
