How to run "modern" apps?

Hi,
Thanks for this amazing piece of software. It's working great for me, with just one exception - I can't figure out how to run "modern" Windows apps - anything downloaded from the Windows App Store. For example, I'd really like to tell my PC to watch Netflix, but I can't figure out where to point Push2Run. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Thanks very much for your kind words about the program.

In your Push2Run card, in the open field just type

Netflix:

(with a colon after the word Netflix)

When you save the card you will see a prompt saying "The program to open couldn't be found. Would you like to save this information anyway?". Just click 'Yes' and you're done.

Attached is a sample Push2Run card.

Best Regards, Rob

Thanks for your help with this! Oddly, the card didn't work. The computer failed to open Netflix:. But, your advice pointed me to a solution. I wrote a simple batch file called Netflix.bat. The file has one line -

start Netflix:

And that's it. I use Push2Run to open that .bat file, and Netflix works like a charm. Not sure what the difference is between opening directly from Push2Run and using the batch file, but it worked for me.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work for every Universal App. Some - like Vudu - don't seem to work with that format.. perhaps I just need to figure out the proper name for the app.

ok - thanks for the update.

It's odd however, as it works for me - just tested it again.

In any case - I'm glad it's working for you.

I couldn't get either of these solutions to work, but this does:

Description: Netflix
Listen for: open netflix
Open: cmd.exe
Start directory:
Parameters: /c "start netflix:"
Window state: Hidden

I hope this helps!

And thank you so much for Push2Run.

I had an app I downloaded from the Microsoft Store that wouldn't give me a directory when I used the drag and drop function. My solution was to create a shortcut of the app and then open the cmd prompt. I dragged and dropped it in there and it gave me a working directory, after that, I pasted that in the "open" tab.
