'Hey Google, tell my computer to start work mode"
- Opens number of app/website windows for work
- Change office lighting
Is it possible to do these two things at once?
Seems like I can only control either the computer, or the smart devices per voice command.

Hmmm, good question.
I'm guessing the only way to get this work is to subscribe to IFTTT's pro service which allows you to do an IF this then THAT and THAT.
After reading your post I set it up and got it working on my account as follows:
OK Google, start work mode
With IFTTT set up as follows:
IF - Google Assistant - Say a simple phrase - start work mode
That 1 - normal push2run setup to trigger pushbullet/pushover/dropbox, however using a fixed text message of "start work mode" instead of using variable text
and
That 2 - normal IFTTT command to action your lighting
In my testing, I used IFTTT's Pro Service, Pushbullet, Push2Run (to control my PC), and TP-Link Kasa (to control my lighting). However, I suspect another combination of services would work just as well.
Before getting the above to work, I also tried to find a way to do it with Google routines so as to avoid needing an IFTTT's pro service subscription, but I couldn't find a way. If someone else can figure that out, it would be great if you could post here.

Appreicate the response, actually managed to figure it out without needing to subscribe to anything.
I was just thinking of it backwards, start with the google assistant first:
- Set routine called "work mode" (or whatever ofc)
Add actions:
- Response
- Adjust smart devices (lights etc)
- *Heres the key* Set a custom action/command to tell google assistant "tell my computer to do xyz"

Glad it's working for you. I had tried the same, but got something like "sorry I don't understand" on the "tell my computer to xyz" part; I'll have to relook at what I may have done wrong.
